Federal Research and Innovation Report
Federal Ministry for Research and Education (BMBF)
ongoing
DLR Projektträger
How will research and innovation address societal challenges and help strengthen Germany’s future skills? How are science and research, innovation and technological development being supported and shaped politically? What financial means will be allocated for this? How does the German research and innovation system compare internationally?
Every two years, the Federal Research and Innovation Report (BuFI) provides comprehensive information about the current goals and focus areas in federal and state research and innovation policy. To this end, it presents the various elements and players in the German research and innovation system, corroborated with the relevant data and facts and takes stock of expenditure, personnel as well as results in the field of research and innovation. In addition, it takes a look at where Germany stands in an international comparison. The report is destined for field experts based in universities, research institutes, professional organisations and businesses, as well as interested members of the public.
The BuFI is produced under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and submitted before German parliament. Together with the DLR Projektträger, we are supporting the BMBF by providing the administrative offices.
