Circular Economy

Application

The Circular Economy model allows producing scenario analyses and waste development assessments (differentiated by main waste types) by taking into account demographic, economic, legal, technological, and competitiveness aspects. Such results can then be compared against available or expected capacities. Respectively, the additional treatment capacity required can be derived.

Model core

The model computes the development of waste generation, differentiated according to waste types, that is individual waste codes – as required. The model is based on two logics “What happens if...” or “What has to happen so that...”. In the model, specific scenario assumptions or sensitivities to specific targets can be considered by specifying the start year of the measures’ impacts and the introduction time frame of measures until the full effectiveness of those measures. Model modifications depend upon data availability and the questions’ specificities.
