Regulatory check for

Increasingly complex sustainability regulations as well as group transformation strategies have raised major challenges for our client’s sales department: What are the specific requirements for B2C sales products and are they systematically considered during product and communication decisions? What information about sales products needs to be collected and integrated into communication? What are the characteristics of a sustainable product portfolio ?

How sustainable are your products?

Together with our client, we systematically documented the sustainability requirements for distribution products along various categories such as climate neutrality, the use of sustainable materials or human rights in the supply chain. In addition to regulatory requirements at national and European level, internal corporate and civil society requirements were a foundational part of the project.

With the help of a product sustainability matrix, the requirements were collected and then prepared in clear and manageable check lists. In parallel, based on a series of interviews, existing management processes were reviewed across all divisions, gaps were identified and appropriate recommendations for how processes could be adapted were developed. A collaborative final workshop was held to plan IT implementation and make recommendations for future governance.

Decision matrix for future products

As part of its sustainability transformation, the client received manageable decision support in the form of check lists for reviewing future product and communication decisions in sales with regard to sustainability requirements.
