Indicators of equal living conditions
Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK)
ongoing
Kantar Public, Berlin Institute for Population and Development
On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, together with Kantar Public and the Berlin Institute for Population and Development, Prognos is investigating the current status as well as the progress made in the equivalence of living conditions in Germany.
Prognos creates a differentiated set of appropriate indicators.
Prognos will conduct regional level analysis in 400 districts and district-free cities over a longer ex-post period of five to ten years, so that regional specificities can be observed over time.
The Germany-wide results will then be put into a European comparison to enable the changes to be classified into overarching trends (such as demographic developments, structural change processes, etc.).
The description in the context of the developed set of indicators will be contrasted with real-life perspectives given by the population. Kantar Public will use a broad-based survey – also at regional level – to investigate how citizens perceive and assess the aspects of equal living conditions in Germany.
The results of both projects are to be used to derive political recommendations for action.
